We are a grassroots arts organization rooted in the Chicano/a/x mural legacy, creating, preserving, and sharing community murals as living expressions of memory and belonging. Murals carry our stories, connect us, and celebrate who we are.
Create
Through our Murals of Hope program, we work with artists, youth, and neighbors to create new community murals and public art projects. Each one reflects the community’s voice, resilience, and pride.
“It was the most wonderful thing I have ever been able to do!”
E. Juarez
Youth participant
Preserve
We take care of community murals so they remain vibrant & visible. Rooted in the Chicano/a/x mural legacy in Colorado, our preservation work supports artists and communities who keep these murals and their stories alive.
“I’m still, at this stage, realizing how important this mural is, even with the new recognition.”

Activate
We don’t just paint and preserve, we also share. Through mural tours, school curriculum, oral histories, exhibits, and internships, we help community murals keep speaking to new generations.
“Muralism is an opportunity for us to be seen, to be able to speak more clearly and loudly who we are.”

Emanuel Project grew out of the Chicano mural tradition of the late 1960s. Today, we combine mural-making, preservation, and storytelling to keep cultural memory alive and visible for our communities now and in the future.
